Born and raised in Mexico City, Mihai moved to New York after completing his design studies at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design in London, England. Mexico City provided him with an exceptional opportunity to discover and experience a substantial part of mexican art early on while exposing him to influential international art currents. He continued to foster this interest later locally and through his travels. Mihai is a truly creative artist who excels in original set design and concepts. His passion for architecture and background in industrial and product design are evident in the attention to detail found in his work. He is always curious by how things are made and put together and the processes that allow this to happen. His extensive knowledge in manufacturing and technology allows him to bridge the gap between traditional craft and new technologies and apply them to his design work wherever possible. His work often includes custom designed and produced furniture and props in different media. Mihai also often uses video, photo stills, projection and other lighting to complement his set work and create original one of a kind sets and exciting environments for his clients. He utilizes a combination of 2D and 3D computer programs to present and produce his unique designs. He has designed and produced sets, scale models and environments for editorial and advertising campaigns in Europe, Japan and America. His work has appeared in international fashion magazines such as French Vogue, Japan Vogue, L'Uomo Vogue, S Magazine, Velvet and other publications as well as in advertising campaigns for Puma, Rolex, SAP and others.
